Katharine is a seasoned 2D Paint & Rotoscope Supervisor and Artist based in San Francisco, CA. She specializes in shot finishing, paint animation, plate prep, outsource QC and VFX production. After attending NYU-Tisch School of the Arts for Theatre & Film Producing, Katharine started her VFX career at Industrial Light + Magic (ILM) Commercial Production division in San Rafael. It was there she made the transition to VFX Paint & Roto for features, working at ILM for 25 years.

After 2 years of freelance work, she landed at PowerHouse VFX, where she served as Head of 2D Paint & Roto and an artist & supervisor on over 15 productions, for both film and streaming/TV.

Katharine is currently developing Passion Projects: The Artist Behind the Effect, a hybrid gallery-shop-community space in San Francisco and online that brings forward the unseen creative lives of VFX artists - past and present - through curated exhibitions, art sales, crew memorabilia, collectibles and immersive storytelling, while fostering dialogue, preserving cinematic artistry and inspiring new creative voices.
